How to Test A Capacitor With A Multimeter?

Connect the meter and scale to a scale of OHM, before the test. You can find some to have an OHM meter setpoint. Now you have to touch the wires together and the counter to 0 (zero) meters, of the wheel. You should make a note of meter readings that show before starting the test. Then touch the terminals of the capacitor (keeping the red wire on the left side and the tip of black on the right). Now see what the meter shows. The needles are pulled away from the infinite (which would probably be on the left) and go slightly right and back to infinity. Now, if the connection is reversed (ie red wire on the right side and black on the left sheet), the meter needle should move away from the more infinite to the right, before falling back to where began. Therefore, all observations to infer that the condenser is in good working condition. On the other hand, if the needle moves away from infinity and goes to the right and stays there, then it indicates that the device has a short circuit. The same theory applies to how to test a capacitor with a digital multimeter.

In conclusion, it is always safe for instructions on how to test a capacitor in an air conditioner or a microwave, a professional. This is due to the fact that in such devices, the capacitors have a large amount of cargo in its interior, which can endanger your safety, unless it is really professional.
